Watertight concrete supplement – mix gel – fiber-holder
Carboxylate-based
It is a super-lubricant and extreme water-reducing additive with high slump retention and based on polycarboxylate ether, modified with polymer and chloride-free, which is suitable for high-performance cement mixtures.
Product Code: STAR GEL/MIX FCP
The main ingredients of this additive composition are: micro-silica, polymer super-lubricant, waterproof, catalysts, and fillers. In fact, concrete supplement additive is a multipurpose product of concrete additives. In addition to improving the concrete slump during construction, this material produces an impermeable product. Micro-silica, which is used in the composition of this additive, is an additive to enhance the quality of the cement mixture along with concrete water-reducing materials, which are used simultaneously. One of the common problems in concreting with low rebar density is the creation of structural cracks. Fibers are used in this composition to cope with this problem. In addition to increasing the concrete slump during construction, the mentioned material produces an impermeable product and is very influential in improving the bending and tensile strength of the concrete.
How the watertight concrete supplement works
Evaporation of a part of the mixing water added to achieve more efficiency or fluidity to the concrete (due to not participating in hydration reaction) will cause the creation of many capillary tubes in the concrete, which will lead to the concrete permeability. Another influential factor in concrete permeability is the lack of aggregates’ filler and the lack of use of fine aggregates or suitable filler, which causes an increase in the cement consumption. There are many specialized solutions to fix the aforementioned defects and make impermeable concretes, especially in aggressive weather areas such as: coastal areas, desert areas, etc., that generally rely on detection of mineral and chemical additives in concrete. The simultaneous consumption of micro-silica additive is one of them.
Depending on the environmental conditions of the site of construction and concreting, the level of efficiency and the required resistances, the amount of consumption will be determined through workshop tests, but in general, this amount will be about 4 to 8% of the weight of the cement used. The concrete supplement can be added to concrete in two ways: adding it after complete mixing of all the concrete ingredients in the factory or adding it to the concrete mixture 10 minutes before concreting with the whole or part of the concrete mixing water.
